North Jersey Pride

June - August 2025 | Event Videographer & Video Strategist

North Jersey Pride is a nonprofit organization that produces events and programming to support and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community in northern New Jersey. As their event videographer for the 2025 season, I was responsible for end-to-end video production—from concept development to filming and final edits—for two of their keystone events: the Pride Run 5k and the 13th Annual Pride Festival.

As part of this project, I provided strategic marketing support through developing a release schedule, copyrighting for social media posts, and designing custom thumbnails. While I was proud to help steer marketing efforts, the implementation and execution were handled independently by the business owner. As such, the final outcomes do not fully reflect the original strategy or potential impact of the proposed approach.

2025 Pride Run 5k

For this year’s run, the weather wasn’t on our side this time, which meant fewer people stuck around before and after the race — usually the best window for capturing those spontaneous, joyful moments. So not only did I need to be attentive, I had to be engaging. It’s a great reminder that filming events is about more than pointing a camera and hitting record. It takes interpersonal skills to build trust — so people feel comfortable being on camera and involved in the video.

13th Annual Pride Festival

This year’s festival drew approximately 4,000+ attendees and featured a range of activities, including live musical performances, a foam party, a reptiles & wildlife show, and a variety of food and merchandise vendors. I chose to take a more personal, people-focused approach for the highlight video. By capturing moments of attendees interacting and enjoying the event, I aimed to showcase the true spirit and energy of the festival rather than focusing solely on the offerings.
