The next opportunity to create something I was truly excited about came during a family trip to Morocco. I learned a lot from this experience. With only an iPhone and a GoPro in hand, I had to push the limits of the tools I had. I didn’t want the footage to look amateur, so I became much more intentional with my framing and angles—more so than in any of my previous projects. By pairing those visuals with strong storytelling, I was able to create a piece that, despite being shot on a family vacation with non-professional gear, felt polished and thoughtful.

Just six months after Costa Rica, I set off on my second group tour. I went in with high expectations—after all, my first trip had been life-changing. But this time, I walked away a bit disappointed. That bittersweet feeling pushed me as a filmmaker in a new and unexpected way. It’s easy to tell a compelling story when the trip is full of joy, adventure, and unforgettable people. But what happens when you come home with lessons instead of memories? That question became the heart of this project.

PURA VIDA: A Costa Rica Travel Movie (2022) – Director, Editor – Travel Vlogumentary

Back in 2022, I used the money I’d saved from working service jobs to book my first-ever group tour—to Costa Rica. That trip became a turning point for me, as it solidified my love for travel and connection. After I got back, I spent four months sorting through the footage and creating my first full-length “vlogumentary” (a vlog-style documentary). I’ve grown a lot since then, but this was my first real passion project in four years—and it reminded me why I fell in love with storytelling in the first place.
